こんばんは!今回、私は初めて日本へ来ました。ここは非常に美しいので、
多くの写真を撮って帰ってから妻や子供に見せたいと思っています。
そういうわけで日本に着いてまずしたことは、このデジタル・カメラを買ったことです。
ただ、一つ問題がありました。それは、説明書が日本語で書かれているということです。
私は日本語を読むことができません!基本的な写真をとる方法はどうにか解きました。
しかし、このカメラには使い方を知らない他の多くの機能があることを知っています。
特別なライトや、パノラマ写真を撮るなどの機能を持っているはずです。
しかし、帰宅しインターネットからメーカーの説明書の英語バージョンをダウンロードするまで、
私はこのカメラを十分に使いこなすことができないでしょう。
私はコンピューター・プログラマーをしており、コンピューターの説明書を読むことが大好きです。
ここにお集まりの人々のなかでどれくらいの人が、ビデオプレーヤーのような新しい電気機器を買う場合に、
最初から最後まで読んでしまうまで、テーブルの上にビデオプレーヤーを置きっぱなしにしているでしょうか?
それは私です。私はそうします。妻がコーヒーを飲みながらテレビを見ている時、
私はコンピューター・マニュアルを読んでいます。
私は、コンピューター・プログラムを最大限に活用するただ一つの方法がメーカーの説明書を
読むことであることを知っています。
私の友達や仕事の同僚が私を電話で呼び出し、コンピューター・プログラムについての助けを求める場合、
私は説明書を読んでいるので彼らを助けることができます。
私の両親は最近新しいコンピューターを買いました。それはとてもパワフルです。
しかし彼らは説明書を読んでいないため、そのコンピューターを最大限に活用する方法を知りません。
説明書を読めば彼らがもっとコンピューター使いこなせることが分かるので、とても苛立たしく感じます。
私は、人生がこれに似ていると思います。
ちょうどカメラを最大限に活用するためにメーカーの説明書、あるいはコンピュータ−を使いこなすために
コンピューター・プログラムを読む必要があるように、私たちは、人生を最大限に活用するために
メーカーの説明書を読む必要があります。
私たちのメーカー・造り主は神です。また、彼の説明書はバイブル（聖書）です。
イエスは、私たちに豊かないのちを与えるために来たと聖書の中で言っています。
私は、人生を最大限に利用するために、バイブル・人生の説明書を読む必要があることを知りました。
そうすれば、人生が冒険であることが分かります!
これは、人生が常に容易であるという意味ではありません。しかし、私がバイブルを読み、
イエス(バイブル中の中心人物)に従っていくとき、神様は困難な中から私を助けて下さいます。
あなたが本当の満足を得、意味のある人生を送りたいと願うなら、私たちのメーカーの説明書を読み、
そ の言葉に従われることを強くお勧めします。神様があなたを祝福されますように!
Kombanwa! This is my first visit to Japan.
It’s very beautiful here, and I want to take lots of photos to
show my wife and childrenwhen I get home.
So the first thing I did when I arrived in Japan was to buy this digital camera.
The only problem is that the instruction manual is written in Japanese,
and I can’t read Japanese!
I’ve managed to figure outhow to take a basic photo,
but I know there are lots of other features that the camera has,
which I don’t know how to use.
I’m sure it has features for special lighting conditions and for
taking panoramic shots and so on.
But I won’t be able to use the camera to its full potential until I get home and
download the English version of the manufacturer’s manual from the Internet.
I’m a computer programmer and I love reading computer manuals.
How many people here, when they buy a new electronic gadget, such as a video player,
will leave the video player on the table until they’ve read the manual from cover to cover?
Well, that’s me; I do that. And when my wife is sitting with a cup of coffee watching television,
I’ll be reading a computer manual.
I know that the only way to get the most out of a computer program is to
read the manufacturer’s instruction manual.
When my friends or work colleagues ring me up and ask for help with a computer program,
I can usually help them, because I’ve read the manual.
My parents recently bought a new computer.
It’s quite powerful, but they don’t know how to get the most out of
the computer because they haven’t read the manuals. It’s quite frustrating for me,
because I can see that they could do so much more with it, but they don’t know how.
I think that life is like this.
Just like you need to read the manufacturer’s instruction book to
get the most out of your camera, or the most out of a computer program,
we need to read the manufacturer’s instruction book to get the most out of life.
Our maker is God, and his instruction book is the Bible.
Jesus said in the Bible that he has come to give us abundant life.
I’ve found that to get the most out of life,
I need to read the instruction book of life, the Bible.
When I do that I find that life is an adventure!
This doesn’t mean that life is always easy.
But God helps me get through the difficult times as I read the Bible and follow Jesus,
the central person in the Bible.
I encourage you all that if you want to have a fulfilled andmeaningful life,
to read and follow what is written in our maker’s instruction book.
